Resource Development Update

From Resource Development Director, Lindsey Douglas

(February, 2012)

It’s that time of year again! On Saturday, March 17, we hope to see you at Valley Lanes for Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2012, our signature, annual fund raising event, presented this year by The Printing Express. Our goal is to raise $85,000 to support over 900 local youth who will be served by our programs this year. Teams can be formed with up to 5 participants. Each bowler must raise (or pay on event day) a minimum of $40 to bowl. Each participant will receive a T-Shirt, an hour of bowling time, and the reward of knowing that you have helped change the life of a local child for the better! Visit www.bbbshr.org/bowl to start your team or make a donation today!

Without the support of our community partners and donors, our mission to help kids reach their full potential would not be possible. We are excited to announce new partnerships with several first time Bowl for Kids’ Sake sponsors. A BIG thank you to the following: Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, RMH Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Merck, The Rockingham Group, Fine Earth LLC, White Wave, Park Rose Village, and SunTrust.

Thanks to the award of the new JMU and OJJDP grant funding, our agency will be working to support more local children than ever before this calendar year. For every child who requests our services, we will be seeking to recruit a caring, adult mentor with whom to match him or her. Please help us spread the word! We would love to come share our message and explore opportunities for community partnerships with any local groups or businesses that you are a part of.  Please email Lindsey@bbbshr.org for more information.
