Big Brother Nathan Barge and Little Brother Bryan were matched in March 2017 in the school based program. When they were first matched, Bryan had a lot of people moving in and out of his life. This made it a challenge for Nathan to build trust with Bryan.
Nathan relied on his Match Support Specialist and attended a training for Bigs to find strategies to connect. The support has paid off.
Bryan’s assistant principal recently shared that Nathan is truly a bright spot for Bryan. He looks forward to Nathan’s visits and has gained security from Nathan’s consistent presence and committed friendship.
